Benkelman, NE – As part of its mission to bridge the digital divide, Vistabeam is pleased to announce that on December 1, 2022, it acquired Raicom, the fixed wireless division of BWTelcom.
Since 1944, BWTelcom has been serving communities in southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas, providing wireless and fiber internet, cable television, computer sales, and wiring maintenance.Â
The acquisition will add ten new towers of coverage in southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas. This will expand Vistabeam’s growing presence in Nebraska, which first began in Gering in 2004. The added infrastructure will also result in Vistabeam’s first foray into Kansas.
Matt Larsen, CEO of Vistabeam, said, “Raicom has an extensive fixed wireless network in Chase, Frontier, Hayes, Hitchcock, and Red Willow Counties in Nebraska, along with parts of Cheyenne, Decatur, and Rawlins Counties in Kansas. We will integrate the new infrastructure into our southwestern Nebraska broadband network and are excited to welcome our first customers in Kansas.”
Vistabeam plans to add a local office to service both our newly acquired and potential customers in the area. Until the new office is established, Vistabeam will serve the area from its Yuma, Colorado location.
